expressions are used to make searches more precise

enables you to limit your search to avoid unnecessary retrieval of huge
information

boolean expressions uses the words; AND, OR, NOT

Examples
of searches using Boolean expressions

AND drug resistance AND developing countries

Points
on using boolean expression

In
the above example; tuberculosis AND drug resistance will yield less citations
than tuberculosis OR drug resistance

instructing the data base to produce all citations with tuberculosis and
exclude citations with the words drug resistance
