1: INTRODUCTION
a) The
school Development planning is a collaborative process that draws the school
community together in shaping the schools future. It requires appropriate
involvement of all stake holders, such as Head teacher, school committee, and teachers
support staff, parents, pupils and local community.
School development and improvement
plan depends on the full involvement of different stake holders being internal
or external stake holders.
Stake
holder;
Is any person, group
or an organization that has an interest or concern in an
Organization
Internal
stake holders;
These are people
within a particular organization
E.g. at school we
have Head teacher, pupils, Teacher and non teaching staff.
External
stake holders;
These are other person
who operate or supports the organization from
outside.
eg parents, school committee, village
Government Associations and NGO’S
Five stake holders
involved in preparation and implantation of all School development plan are as
follows
i)
Head
teacher;
This is the head of
the school it is the overall in charge of all day to day activities at school
especially administration related activities.
ii)
Pupils/students;
This is a very
important stake holder she/he is the target and centre of all development in
school.
iii)
Teachers;
This is another group of
internal stake holder are the most important people who help the head teacher
to supervise and implement the development plan at school.
iv)
Parents;
This is another external stake holder
who is responsible for the supervision, monitoring and guidance of the pupils
while at school and outside schooling.
v)
School
committee;
This is the organ which comprises different
people such as parents, teachers, head teacher ward or village officers who
help the head teacher in implantation of development plan at school level.
b) The above mentioned stake holders each has
the role to perform towards implementation of school development plan.
Head teacher;
Being the head of
the school is supposed to perform the following duties

He is the head of school
·
He is the secretary of school committee
·
He is responsible for leading the
monitoring and evaluation of school activities
Teachers;
Is another group of internal stake holder
their roles are
·
To participate full and effectively in
the teaching and learning process.
·
Here a role to propose priority areas
for school development plan.
Pupils/students;
These have one major role which is to participate effectively in the
teaching and learning process.
Also they are involved in formulation of
development plan.
Parents;
The basic role of the parent
is to take care, provide all social basic needs to his or her son while at
school and home.

To show support to his child education
career
·
Also is responsible for all affection,
attention and protection.
School committee;
Is the elected body that established goods and policies for the public
schools
The following are the main
roles of the school committee as the extend stake holders;

To prepare school plan
·
To contribute in financial and material
support
·
To provide advice to schools various
issues
·
Assist in monitoring and evaluation of
the plan
·
To approve the school budget
