BIOGRAPHY OF ELLEN G.WHITE

Ø  Ø  Who is Ellen White
Ellen and her twin sister Elizabeth were born in November 26,1827, to Robert and Eunice Harmon. Robert was a farmer who made hats also, and the whole family helped with the hat making. With eight children in the family, home was a busy place. The family lived on a small farm near the village of Gorham, Maine. However, few years after the birth of twins, Robert Harmon gave up farming, and, with his family, moved into the city of Portland, about twelve miles.
Ø  Marriage and family
Sometimes in 1845 Ellen came into contact with her future husband James springer white, a Millerite who became convinced that her visions were genuine. A year later James proposed and they were married by a justice of the peace in Portland, Maine, on August 30, 1846. James later wrote
We were married August 30, 1846, and from that hour to the present she has been my crown of rejoicing….It has been in the good providence of God that both of us had enjoyed a deep experience in Advent movement….This experience was now needed as we should join our forces and, united, labour extensively from the Atlantic ocean to the pacific….
James and Ellen had four sons: Henry Nichols, James Edson (known as Edson), William Clarence (known as Willie or W.C), and John Herbert.
Only Edson and William lived to adulthood. John Herbert died of erysipelas at the age of three months, and Henry died of pneumonia at the age of 16(White estate Biography) in 1863.
Ø  The early year
Ellen was born in November, 26, 1827 with her twin sister Elizabeth from family of eight children. During her childhood assisted about the home and helped her father in manufacturing of huts. At the age of nine while returning home from school by a one afternoon she was severely in the face by a stone thrown by a classmate. This made her to drop from school at child age. In 1840 she attended Methodist church meeting at Boxton. At the age of 12she gave her heart to God and on 26 June 1842 she was baptized.
Ø  The Advent Message
In 1840 and 1842 Ellen with other members of the family attended Adventist meeting in Portland and accepted views presented by William Miller. That made her confidently looked for Christ’s imminent return. At the age of 17 when she with fellow women believers in south Portal. Heaven seemed near to the praying group, and as the power of God rested on Ellen, she witnessed in vision the travel of the advent people to the city of God (Early Writings pp 13-20).
Ø  Beginning Publishing
While at rock hill, connecting in the summer of 1849 James White begun publication of the present truth an eight page, the later number carried article from Ellen White’s pen setting forth prophetic views of the church. In 1851 marked the second book, A Christian Experience and views of E.G. White.
Ø  The Great Controversy Vision
At Ohio funeral service held on Sunday afternoon in March 1850 in the Lovett’s Grove 9now boiling Green) public school, a vision of the age long conflict between Christ  and his angles and Satan and his angles was given to Mrs. White. Then the Book was written and published in 1858.
Ø  The Health Reform vision
When James and Ellen white vested Otsego Michigan over the weekend. To encourage the evangelistic workers there. As the group bowed in prayer at the beginning of the Sabbath. Ellen white was given a vision of the relation of physical health to spiritually, of the importance of the following right principles in diet and in care of the body, and of the benefit of nature’s.
Ø  Education
Ellen White’s earliest essays on Education appearance in the 1872 autumn editions of the Health Reformers. In her first essay, she stated that working with youthful minds was the most delicate of tasks. The manner of instruction should be varied. This would make it possible for the “high and noble powers of the mind” to have a chance to develop. To be qualified to educate the youth, parents and teachers must have self-control, gentleness and love.
Ellen White’s idea of creating a Christian educational system and its importance in the society is detailed in her writings Christian Education (1893, 1894) and education (1903).

During her lifetime Ellen White wrote more than5,000 periodical articles, 40 books, and reported over 2000 visual/aural paranormal experiences, most of which she was convinced were communications with supernatural entities including various angles and sometimes Jesus. Today over100 titles are available in English, including compilations from her50,000 manuscript pages.

Ø  Historic Legacy
According to one evangelical author, “No Christian leader or theologian has exerted as great an influence on a particular denomination as Ellen White has on Adventism”. Additional authors have stated “Ellen G. white has undoubtedly been the most influential Seventh-day Adventist in the history of the church.
       Late in 1905 Ellen White wrote the book title The Ministry of Healing a book dealing with the healing of the body, mind and soul come from the press. Then education had been published in 1903 and two volumes of the Testimonies for the church volume 7 and 8 were issued in 1902 and1904 respectively.
Ø  Final years and death
Ellen White spent the final years of her life in Elmshaven, her home in Saint Helena, California after the death of her husband James White in 1881. During her final years she would travel less frequently as she concentrated upon writing her last works for the church. Ellen G. White died in July 16, 1915, at her home in Elmshaven, which is now an Adventist Historical site. After three funerals, she was buried with her husband James White in Oak Hill Cemetery, Battle Creek, Michigan.
Ø  Conclusion
In 1905 E. White got serious injure when she stripped and fell in her study room which lead her into death in July 16 1915. But she felt cheerfulness, a sense of having faithful performed the work of God had entrusted to her and confidence that the cause of truth would finally triumph.
